Welcome to the North Sand Mountain Farmers' Market
|
Open Every Saturday • 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
April 10 - October 30, 2010
Hwy. 75, between Rainsville and Sylvania, Ala.
Next to the Upper Sand Mountain Parish
Join us every Saturday through Oct. 30 for the finest and freshest vegetables produced by local growers from all over DeKalb County and Jackson County. You'll also find fruits, flowers, plants, cage-free eggs, honey, and other locally raised produce. We'll have weekly door prizes, maybe some entertainment, and occasionally demonstrations that will enrich your experience with locally grown food.
The purpose of the North Sand Mountain Farmers' Market is to bring together the people of neighboring communities and make available to them nutritious food and valuable information. Opportunities to be involved with our Market include volunteering at our information booth, selling your own home-grown items, or buying fresh produce and goods from our local vendors.
While you are at the Market, don’t forget to sign up for the weekly door prize of $10.00 in market bucks. We have a drawing every week. The winner will receive their market bucks in the mail.
Also join in on the market bag promotion by collecting a token after making a purchase at the market. Collect N-S-M-F-M for your bag. Watch for future events like the Corn boil, largest tomato contest, Tomato sandwich tasting, 4H booth, and blood drive. There are recipes, information about what’s in season, information on eating local and more.
Market Bucks
Enter each week to win a door prize -- $10 of Market Bucks. You may spend these anytime during our 2010 Market season at any vendor. To enter, come to the market any Saturday and fill out the entry form. Winners are drawn at the end of the market and will be notified. Limit of one entry per person per week.
